ID Soft wear

ID soft wear started out rather small but with a big idea, no one had claimed the PC platform as a gaming platform so a couple of 20 something year olds came along and decided to make some games for it.
They made a massive impact when they released, the at the time controversial, Wolfenstein 3D, it made a massive impact and today is considered one of the god fathers of first person shooters, at the time though it was shunned due to the excessive violence, use of Nazi symbolism as well as Hitler being the final boss, it was all later changed to a more “appropriate” zombie shooter unfortunately.
Today ID is one of the big gaming kings but releasing games and a slow rate but make up for that with amazing quality.

Valve

Valve started as a bit of a dream for a few Microsoft employees after they had become rather wealthy. Unlike other game studios at the time, valve started off making massive games with a large team and a big budget, their leader Gabe newel had big dreams for the gaming industry and had the money, knowhow and assistance to make these dreams come true.
The only issue they had was that in the end they were a couple of guys wanting to make a lifelong dream real, most publishers saw this as a negative so it took valve a while to finally have someone take a risk on them but someone did, and the result is what we see today.

Bethesda

Bethesda started out as a small game company dedicated to racing games, but would later on become legendary for its open world epics, whether your exploring elfish forests or a nuclear wasteland Bethesda made it and made it dam well.
The main reason they are such a powerful force in the gaming industry is simple, they have some of the best story writers assembled in a game studio, so unsurprisingly most gamers who play Bethesda games play them for the riveting and expansive story each games will and always does tell.
